JR. REPORTER PROGRAM

Empowering the Next Generation of Storytellers Through Sports

The GameLik3 Cares Foundation Jr. Reporter Program introduces youth to the world of sports journalism while helping them develop confidence, communication, leadership, and public speaking skills. Through exclusive access to high school basketball Media Days, participants gain real-world experience interviewing athletes and coaches while learning about careers in sports beyond playing the game.

Program Experience

• Conduct on-camera interviews with high school basketball players and coaches. • Attend High School Basketball Media Day events.
• Develop interviewing, communication, and public speaking skills.
• Learn how to prepare thoughtful and engaging interview questions. • Build confidence while interacting with athletes, coaches, and media professionals.
• Have select interviews featured across GameLik3 Cares Foundation digital platforms.

Learn from ESPN Reporter Eric Woodyard

Participants will learn directly from ESPN NFL Reporter Eric Woodyard, who will mentor students on interview preparation, asking meaningful questions, building confidence on camera, professionalism in sports media, storytelling, and his journey to ESPN.

Selection Process

Interested students will submit a 60-second video answering:

"Why do you want to become a GameLik3 Cares Jr. Reporter?"

Selected participants will represent the Foundation during Media Day experiences throughout the basketball season.

Eligibility

• Ages 8–14
• Passion for sports
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Interest in communication and storytelling • No previous media experience required
